Gene Frechin's Biography
Gene Frechin is the author of the novel The Event . Born in California, he grew up in Walnut Creek and attended California State University at Stanislaus graduating in 1995 with a degree in the Social Sciences. Along the way he developed a love for the old classic muscle cars of the 60's and still owns a 1968 Firebird 400, worked for Standard Oil of California, served two terms in the Air Force, opened his own business in the Sacramento area, worked in retail management for a number of years, the government, and was an independent business consultant and currently owns a restaurant in Butte, Montana with a friend. Mr. Frechin's first book is an adventure/horror novel called The Event (2005) and features Jack Macklin as a man faced with insurmountable odds when he discovers that everyone has disappeared and the countryside is on fire. His journeys lead him to the discovery of other survivors and a rising evil in the world. With his group and the discovery of 'special' animal friends, Jack and his band face the ultimate challenge when good vs. evil in an epic final battle. He is currently working on a new novel tentatively entitled 'Wizard of Dreams' hopefully due out in the fall of 2008. This is a novel he started writting when he was 16 years old and has dusted off the cobwebs to finish it. He is an avid reader who has never given up any of the books he has ever owned. He loves the outdoors, fishing, hunting, writing, photography, traveling and spending time with his family.
